Happy Father’s Day to anyone who’s made a difference in the life of a child.
Today I am grateful for these two. Himself is the best grandpa I’ve known. My own grandpa was nice and funny, but also serious and worked too hard on the farm to enjoy having us kids around. My dad was also a good grandpa to my boys, but not until they got a bit older and they could mess with tools.
But Himself! Wow! It’s easy to see why he’s a favorite of little kids because he thinks on their level and he’s got the toys to prove it. And though there are 80 years between them, our two-year-old granddaughter follows him around like a puppy dog.
They are always going off somewhere together, which is why I have so many pictures of their backs. Whether it’s looking for squirrels out the sunroom window; or walking to the park; or running to check out the pigs at a farm; or eating ice cream, he never tires of her questions and curiosities. And she never tires of him.
And I never tire of watching these two.
