This is what we looked like today.

Today I am grateful for teamwork. Without all of us, my sister, her daughter and husband, Himself and me, we never could have gotten my mom’s old apartment gutted and cleaned. How much crap can you acquire in only four years? Tons!
If you’ve been paying attention, you might notice I did not mention my brother-in-law as part of the team today. He took a header carrying a huge load of boxes into mom’s apartment building. When we walked into the lobby, my sister asked if I had seen the pool of blood on the walkway. Her husband was holding ice to his head. I took one look at it and sent him with Himself to get stitches. Four. And boy oh boy, he has a shiner that looks like he went ten rounds with the champ. He was put on the disabled list for the rest of the day.
The rest of us worked our collective asses off. . .and that’s a lot of asses! Not in the mean sense, in the reality sense. Mom’s place is empty and cleaned. Two full car loads have been delivered to Goodwill. And another carload is going to mom’s new place, though none of us know where she will put it.
For the most part it is also clean, except the floor, fridge and freezer. We ran out of energy and will do them on Monday. Tomorrow is another much needed day off. That’s probably the most important part of teamwork. Knowing when to play. Separately. In order to keep the team whole.
