Spring Flowers

Yellow Crocus

Saturday, March 19, 2016

Today I am grateful for Spring flowers.  Even if they will be covered by snow tomorrow, on the first day of Spring.

There is something very hopeful about seeing the cherry trees blossom pink; and the purple and yellow crocus poke their heads out of the ground; and the brilliant yellow daffodils trumpeting the end of winter.

Yesterday I saw a blooming dandelion.  Even weeds get kudos when the promise of mild temperatures lies ahead.  Spring in Pennsylvania is my favorite change of season. In Wisconsin the plants don’t winter as well and there is just not as much color.   Even my mom declared Pennsylvania’s the prettiest Spring when she visited one time.

So take a walk and look for those little spears of color. . .even if they are under the predicted snow.  They’re there, just waiting to show off.
