Today I am grateful to be getting home. And when we open the door and enter our house it will be almost completely decorated for Christmas because we did it before we left! That was among the smartest moves I’ve made.
Before we got started, John brought the bags with the tree upstairs. “Just dump them on the floor and we’ll get to them whenever.” Whenever became days. . .until I finally said, “Maybe we should just throw the tangled lights on top of the bags and call it decorated.” We soldiered on and got it done. Now that it’s almost three weeks later, I’m grateful I pushed myself (us) to do it before we left.
The only thing I have to putz with is the kitchen and that won’t take long at all. I love it when I’m clever and smart so I cherish those rare moments. Getting home is the tricky part.
