Today I am grateful for Epic Systems’ tour, in Verona, Wisconsin. Google it.
What in the world is Epic? It’s a $500 million dollar office complex near Madison, Wisconsin that offers tours of the facility which is an architectural and design miracle, that’s what! They make software for mid-sized and large medical groups, hospitals and integrated healthcare organizations. The staff are worked long and hard, but paid well and their facility is amazing. A stint at Epic goes a long way on a resume. We were there when no one was working but the tours run even if staff is present. Be prepared to march up ramps, down long hallways and steps sometimes, but if you live anywhere near Madison. . .GO!
We saw areas in ultra-modern (purple geometric), old western (with hoof-print carpet & saddle chairs), dungeons & dragons (dragon), oriental, Southwestern, Heaven and back-yard themes. I can’t possibly share all we saw in one short afternoon and we barely made a dent in the entire campus, so today I’m just covering some of the unusual chairs.
If you’ve been paying attention you will know how much I love good lighting and well- designed furniture. These seven chairs top the charts for both and I am grateful I witnessed them in their natural environment, Epic Systems!
