Today I am grateful for the Paine Art Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Anyone within a two hour radius of this place should get their butts over there this Christmas season to see the most amazing decorations tucked amongst spectacular architecture.
We went there with our friend, Tim, last Friday, but I’m a little behind because well. . .I’ve been living my life. A lot. I had never heard of the place, but was very pleasantly surprised to find it not only affordable, but perfectly decorated in a Nutcracker theme, with the music from the ballet playing in the background. A total package.
I once went to a famous house in Pennsylvania that was supposed to be “decked out for the holidays with many, many trees.” It was, but most of the trees were outside. Duh! And only some had lights on. The indoor trees, which were supposed to be “festive” were sub-average in color and style and the whole experience was a grave disappointment.
Not the Paine Art Museum! It fully satisfied and I am grateful. I took some nice pictures but can’t possibly post them all so this smattering should be enough to get you in your cars, heading for Oshkosh!
